PERIVOLAS TRADITIONAL HOUSES

Faithful to the tradition of unique architecture of Santorini, Perivolas Traditional Houses is a restored group of 300 year- old caves that were once the homes, wineries and stables of indigenous fishermen and farmers. With the help of native craftsmen using volcanic raw materials, this historical setting has been transformed into an superior complex of 17 private houses.

Perivolas Traditional Houses is set within an amphitheatrical landscape of curves stepping down to a central stone terrace with a pool that flows over the edge of the cliff into an Aegean horizon. Next to the pool, an old winery is reborn as an indoor cafe and a poolside bar.

Preserving the original structures and remaining true to local architectural traditions, no effort has been spared to conserve the aesthetics of the caves, while modern comforts and amenities have been added to satisfy our guests’ needs.

Each private air-conditioned Perivolas house with its own stone terrace overlooking Santorini's famous Caldera, is unique, combining the old with the new, furnished with island antiques and handmade objects that speak of simple elegance and a refined personal touch.

Perivolas Traditional Houses feature vaulted ceilings, spacious rooms, domed bathrooms and fully equipped kitchenettes.

Junior Suites have open-plan layouts, integrating bedroom and sitting room into one large space, while Superior Suites have a bedroom separate from the living room.

Studios are smaller versions of the Junior Suites, with a sitting area.

Each house contains one private bath with shower.

Set by the poolside cafe is the breakfast buffet with home-made marmalades, apple-pie and cookies, oven baked bread, freshly squeezed juices and our own production of seasonal fruit. Brunch or light Mediterranean dishes by the pool feature vegetables grown in little Perivolas garden. Enjoy a cocktail on your lounge chair by the poolside bar and be seduced by Oia's sunset. Linger at the bar over a glass of wine from the extensive Perivolas wine list, while candlelight reflects off hand-sculpted walls.
