These are photos of Athens during the Olympics of 2004 when the whole city was cleaned up and the transportation infrastructure was brand new. I had friends who chose to leave Athens during the Olympics, thinking it would be a zoo or just leaving so they could rent their houses and apartments and make a fortune. But in my opinion they missed the greatest period in the history of modern day Athens. It is unlikely there will be another time like this in our lifetimes.
