Until he finally got fed up, every so often my father would announce that we were going on a trip around the mainland. This was usually met with resistance since we would rather hang out in Athens with our friends, doing the things that teenagers do, than traveling around the countryside in our VW van all arguing with each other. Thankfully my father was insistent and even after we got old enough to stay home on our own, he would still
manage to get at least one of his kids to join him on his adventures, usually my youngest brother James. I am glad he did because I enjoy these photos a lot more than I liked our family trips. |
