Sailing in Greece: Greek Island
Cabin Cruises
The advantages of these small cabin cruises are many. Instead
of being on a big cruise ship with hundreds of other people taking
an hour to get on and off the boat, cutting into the time you have
to spend on each island, these cruises are like taking a trip on
a very big yacht. They have several different boats which generally
have around 20 cabins or so, a nice restaurant, a crew of around
15, and a number of different itineraries like the sample one I
have included below. The boats are based in several different ports
so for example if you wanted to sail the Ionian Islands you would
start from Corfu, hitting the other islands and mainland ports and
beaches down to Kefalonia and back. The Diogenes starts in Crete
and sails to Rhodes and the Dodecanese and back. The Panorama starts
in Lavrion and visits Kea, Milos,
Folegandros, Santorini, Paros,
Mykonos, Delos before returning.
For those of you who want to
take a cruise and don't like crowds these are the way to go. You can get more information and prices at www.charterayachtingreece.com/cabincruise.htm
